Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cloonanart Beg is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloonanart Beg, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a NE-facing slope where a circular grass-covered area measures 23.6m east-west and 23.2m north-south. An earthen bank 3 to 3.5m wide defines the circle, though it reduces to a scarp from NNW to SE. A slight fosse 4 to 5m wide separates the inner bank from an outer bank 6.5m wide that survives only from S to NW.
On a NE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 23.6m E-W; 23.2m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-3.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.7-0.9m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.1m at N to 0.7m at E) NNW-SE. The bank is separated by a slight fosse (Wth of top 4-5m; ext. D 0.4-0.5m) SE-W-NW from an outer bank (Wth 6.5m; H 0.2m) which only survives S-NW. There is an entrance (Wth 0.9m) in the inner bank at WSW. Rath (RO022-038----) is c. 20m to the NE, and mound barrow (RO028-037----) is c. 80m to the WSW.
