Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Cartron, County Longford: a subcircular raised area about thirty metres across, enclosed by a low earth-and-stone bank on a pasture knoll. The entrance has vanished, but the ring remains, a shallow scar in the field where someone once drew a line around their own world.
On a knoll in undulating pasture. A report in 1975 (SMR file) indicates that this raised subcircular area (29.7m N-S; 28.5m E-W) was enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone with a berm at its base. It is defined by a low scarp (H 0.2-1m). The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 28 November 2011
