Brierfort holds a well-preserved D-shaped rath on a north-facing slope, its two banks and central ditch still marking a small defensive world above the bogland. The inner bank carries faint stone revetment from south to west, while a later field wall climbs the outer bank toward the northeast. Either eastern or western gap may have been the true entrance, leaving the fort’s deepest ritual unresolved: did people enter from the light or the shadow?

On a N-facing slope in grassland overlooking bogland to NE. Well-preserved D- shaped rath (E-W c. 40m, N-S c. 30m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank has traces of an inner stone revetment, best preserved from S to W. A field wall overlies the outer bank from N to NE. Either one of two gaps at E or W could be the original entrance.
