What is recorded here

Marked as a rectangular building (dim. c. 10m NW-SE) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as ‘Church’. It is situated on the crest of a NW-SE esker ridge. A section of the SE wall (L 2.4m; H 2.8m; T 1.2m) of a rectangular structure survives, with faint traces of the adjacent section of the NE wall (L 6m). There is no evidence of an enclosure or of burial, although there were traces of earthworks (RO032-026002-), now removed, to the NE (Gannon 1972).
