Fairy fort in Ballyshurdane: a 19-metre earthen ring on a SE-facing slope in County Cork, its bank climbed by briars and bushes while the inside stays clear and slopes gently downward. People may have lived there before becoming a story, or the story may have grown from the shape itself: a small round world set into the hill, half-hidden, still holding its line.

In pasture, on SE-facing slope. Circular area (19m N-S; 18m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.1m) SW->N; stone wall N->NE; faint trace of bank elsewhere. Bank partially overgrown with trees, bushes and briars. Interior clear of overgrowth, slopes gently down to SE.
