Fairy fort in Baile Mhic Íre is a level circular chamber cut into a steep south-west slope, bounded by an earthen bank and a two-metre scarp. It is not a ghost story, though people may have called it one; it is a made place where someone shaped a hill into a room large enough for twenty paces across. The east bank has become a field fence, so the boundary is also a living line in the pasture. To walk its edge is to follow the decision of hands that measured asymmetry and corrected it.

In pasture, on steep SSW-facing slope. Circular area (22m E-W; 21m N-S) defined by earthen bank (max. int. H 1.1m) WSW->ESE; scarp (H 2m) elsewhere. Bank incorporated into field fence system to E.
