What is recorded here

Detached three-bay single-storey former dance hall, built 1933, now is use as shop. Recent lean-to extension to side (west). Barrel corrugated-iron roof with cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted rendered walls. Square-headed openings with replacement tripartite timber fixed windows and concrete sills. Square-headed openings with single and double-leaf timber batten doors.
This former dance hall would have played a very important role in the social network of Baile Mhic Íre [Ballymakeery] and the surrounding area. The retention of the barrel roof and double doors gives it a unique character in the area.
