Under the ridge grass in Ardagh, a shallow ditch and worn bank still draw an invisible circle thirty-two metres wide. The north wall has surrendered to a field boundary, yet the southern curve faces the bog like a man holding his coat closed against wet wind. People may have lived there before memory, or the land may have simply marked a place where belonging felt natural. Either way the grass keeps the shape alive while the ditch waits for rain to remind everyone that the circle never fully disappeared.

On W face of a ridge in undulating grassland overlooking bogland to S. Very poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W 32m) enclosed by a degraded scarp and shallow external fosse; the latter is present from E through S to W.
