Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ahawilk

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Ahawilk, County Limerick: a 23m earthen ring with a rectangular annex joined at the southeast, both still holding shallow fosse lines in level pasture. The shape suggests a lived place rather than a fairy tale, though local names often steal what people forgot.
In level pasture. Circular area (diam. 23m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.35m) with external fosse (D 0.15m; Wth 1.2m). Conjoined on SE side is rectangular annex (21m E-W; 15.4m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.4m) with external fosse (D 0.15m; Wth 1m).
