Excavation

Situated on a slight N-facing slope. First identified in centre-line testing (02E0441) in field 13 by Tara O'Nell and Deirdre Murphy of Archaeological Consultancy Services in preparation for the N25 Waterford City bypass (O'Neill 2004b), and excavated (03E0590) by Ian Russell as Gracedieu West 6 (Russell 2006c). An area of deposits overlying two post-holes, pits, and two small pits. A radiocarbon date suggests that it is recent, dating from the 16th to the 20th century (Russell 2009a, App. 1). O'Neill, T.
