What is recorded here
Castle in Drumhome, County Cavan, is an unclassified castle. It is not a castle of a man, a family or a dated event. It is a castle in the sense that it breaks the ordinary shape of the place and must be answered as a castle. Whether it is a hall, a tower, a boundary mark or a room built for one kind of vision, the name preserves that difference.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
