Graveslab in Donaghmore (navan Lower By.) stands upright in the graveyard wall west of the round tower, its sandstone surface carrying a floriated cross tipped with fleur-de-lys. The slab measures 1.42m long, 0.38-0.51m wide and 0.11-0.15m thick, large enough to mark a body and distinct enough to be seen from the churchyard path. It may have belonged to a priest, a noble family or a forgotten donor, but its cross still points upward beside the tower, waiting for someone to read what it remembered.
