What is recorded here

This togher (L 4.75m min.; Wth 2.2m; D 0.13m), orientated NW-SE, consisted of extensively damaged brushwood and roundwood. The NW end of the excavated portion was constructed of longitudinal brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.05m) which, towards the E, gave way to a substructure of transversely laid brushwood. It was radiocarbon dated to 1207-922 BC (2870±35 BP, GrN-16642) (Raftery 1996, Derryoghil 39, 164-5). When inspected in 1999 (Dunne) it comprised longitudinal brushwood (overall L 15m; Wth 2.2m) in very bad condition. The brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.04m) was densely packed and no woodworking was visible.
