A well-constructed togher (L 6m min.; Wth 1.8m; D 0.25m), orientated E-W, consisting of a substructure of longitudinal and transverse roundwood, above and below which were thick deposits of irregular brushwood, and a superstructure of very regular transverse roundwood and brushwood. Pegs were irregularly positioned along its sides. Toolmarks were very clear and showed good signatures. At its E end the togher veered to the NE. Radiocarbon dated to 1685 1459 BC (3295±40 BP, GrN 16566) (Raftery 1990, 19; 1996, Derryoghil 10, 132-6). When inspected in 1999, it (exposed L 2.2m; Wth 2.5m) consisted of large parallel roundwoods (diam. 0.10-0.11m) with parallel brushwood (diam. 0.03-0.06m) between and one transverse roundwood (0.13 x 0.6m) (Dunne 1999).
