What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Derryhippoo, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle SE-facing slope as a circular grass-covered area measuring 30.7m E-W and 30.4m N-S. An earthen bank 2.7-4.7m wide and a scarp 0.35-1.1m high define the perimeter, which lacks a visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Mature deciduous trees grow along the damaged edge, and a 6m hut-site recorded inside the ESE perimeter in 1975 is no longer evident.
