What is recorded here
Grave Yd. is a rectangular graveyard in County Louth, Ireland, holding the remains of a church just north of its centre. It has stood since at least 1835, when surveyors marked its edges on paper. People buried there believed death was not an ending but a crossing into another kind of life. The graveyard still keeps that promise, waiting for visitors who remember what forgetting does to the dead.
Rectangular shaped graveyard indicated on 1835 'OS 6-inch' map (map dims. c. 62m N-S, c. 45m E-W) with remains of church (LH011-098001-) just N of centre.
