In a hollow in a ploughed field, on a gentle E-facing slope. A spread (20m NW-SE; min. 17m NE-SW) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. Burnt mound in Curraghprevin is a Neolithic ritual or industrial site, dating to the 4th–3rd millennia BCE. Its significance lies in providing evidence of early human activity, possibly related to feasting, craft production, or ceremonial practices.
