Coanstown burial ground in Taghadoe, County Kildare, holds church ruins and memorial stones spanning the 18th to 20th centuries. The dead have watched local life for generations while the living continued beside them. That is the shape of the place: memory kept company with everyday work.

According to the OSL (Herity 2002, 11), 'There is a burial ground in this Parish (Taghadoe) called Coanstown burial ground … containing the ruins of an old church (KD010-013----)'. In open, gently undulating mixed tillage and pasture. A raised (H 1.2m), sub-rectangular area (dims. L 45m E-W; Wth 35m) is enclosed by a modern stone wall.
