What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cootehall, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies an east-facing slope as a circular grass-covered area thirty-two metres across, bounded by an overgrown earthen bank three to four metres wide. A fulacht fia sits outside the southeast perimeter while a rath lies approximately one hundred and seventy metres to the south. Archaeological testing twenty to one hundred metres to the northwest found no associated features.

On an E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 32m) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.1-1m; max. ext. H 1m), which is reduced to a scarp (max. H 0.9m) E-S. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Fulacht fia (RO007-092----) is outside the perimeter at SE and rath (RO007-020----) is c. 170m to the S.
