Fulacht fia in Coolcoulaghta

Coolcoulaghta holds a broken ring of heat beside a nearby ringfort, marking a place where people worked iron and perhaps cooked food with heated stones. The scrub keeps a narrow strip of burnt material and iron slag, small enough to walk across but heavy with the idea that ordinary life included fire, force and repetition. A woman may have carried water there at dawn or a smith may have struck hot metal while others watched. The land still carries that activity, not as a monument but as a change in soil and memory.
