In 1860 it was suggested that Killeen Cormac may be no other than the Kil-Fine, or Ecclesia Fine of the various Lives of St. Patrick, and the third church the foundation of which is referred to Palladius (Shearman 1864-6, 60) . Recent geophysical survey carried out in the fields surrounding Killeencormac revealed traces of a trivallate monastic enclosure (max. diam. 205m) surrounding the burial ground (KD032-044----) and church site (KD032-044019-) which occupies the centre of a much more extensive early Christian monastic site (Greene 2013, 26-47).
