Enclosure in Cloonmulligan — Report the wrong picture

Cloonmulligan holds a rectangular enclosure on the south-facing slope of a low drumlin, attached to the rath above it. The grass still covers a sharp southern scarp and a western fosse, while a field bank marks the east edge. Someone shaped that land long before satellites saw it, perhaps to keep out wolves, rain or unwanted visitors. The rath watched over the enclosure, and the enclosure answered back.

Situated on the SE-facing slope of a low drumlin and attached to the S of rath (LE031-007----). It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims 26m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by a scarp (Wth 1.4m; H 0.35m) at S and a fosse (Wth of top 3.2m; int. D 0.35m; ext. D 0.1m) at W.
