What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloonerra, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the west end of a low east-west ridge as a grass-covered area measuring 38 metres east-west and 32 metres north-south. An earthen bank and hedge define most of the boundary, while a shallow fosse cuts through the south and northwest sections. A field bank now truncates the north edge, hiding any original entrance.

At the W end of a low E-W ridge. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 38m E-W; 32m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5-4.4m; int. H 0.6-0.9m; ext. H 1.1-1.7m) and hedge NE-S-NW, which has been incorporated into a field bank NE-S, and a fosse (Wth of top 3.5m; Wth of base 1.6-1.8m; D 0.3-0.6m) S-NW.
