Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carroward (ballintober South By., Kilbride North Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle E-facing slope at the E end of a low WNW-ESE ridge. A circular grass-covered area measuring roughly 29.5m N-S and 29.4m E-W is defined by an earthen bank 3.1-4.7m wide and an outer rounded fosse 5.2-6.4m wide at the top. The ENE entrance is 2.2m wide with a 4m causeway, while a hollow 8.5m NNE-SSW and 2m WNW-ESE inside the northern perimeter may be a collapsed Man-made underground passage.
On a gentle E-facing slope at the E end of a low WNW-ESE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 29.5m N-S; 29.4 E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.1-4.7m; int. H 0.1-0.3m; ext. H 0.4-0.9m) and an outer rounded fosse (Wth of top 5.2-6.4m; Wth of base 2.2-2.6m; D 0.25m). The entrance (Wth 2.2m) and causeway (Wth 4m) are at ENE. A hollow (dims 8.5m NNE-SSW; 2m WNW-ESE; D 0.5m) inside the perimeter at N may be a collapsed Man-made underground passage (RO028-211002-). Enclosure (RO028-238----) is c. 100m to the NW.
