What is recorded here

Topography and history conspired to erase the church, leaving only a rectangular graveyard and unnamed stones on a hill in County Offaly. The site vanished from modern maps despite appearing on nineteenth-century Ordnance Survey charts, suggesting that even charting systems can forget what they first recorded. What remains is a boundary of loss: a place where death was marked, witnessed and recorded before human memory withdrew.
