1916 Rising Monument — Report the wrong picture

Freestanding limestone monument, dated 1953, comprising rectangular-profile pier with stepped cap having carved decorative leaf frieze, inverted sword and inscribed plaques to front (north) and engaged fluted columns with leaf frieze to sides (east, west). Set on cut limestone stepped pedestal. Concrete stepped approach with stone paved foot path having low render and rubble stone parapet wall to east of monument. Rendered rubble stone enclosing wall with render coping to rear (south). Rubble stone enclosing wall to front (north) and side (east) with render coping, square-profile piers with rubble stone capping and decorative wrought-iron gate to side (east). Situated within own grounds near roadside.

A somber monument, erected to commemorate the 1916 Rising. Excellent design and craftsmanship are apparent. Set on an elevated roadside site, it makes a notable addition to the surrounding area.
