Gallán held two standing stones in County Cork, one five or six feet high and the other two hundred yards away, but a disused quarry now occupies the site where they rose. The second stone was destroyed before its exact position could be preserved, leaving only a gap in the land and a warning about how quickly memory can be dug out. What remains is not a monument but a absence, shaped by human hunger and forgetting.

Removed. Disused quarry now occupies site. According to Broker (1937, 30) there were two stones in this townland; one '5 or 6 feet high'; another '200 yds off in next field....It has been destroyed'.
