Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowmore (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a subcircular grass-covered area on a shoulder of a south-facing slope, defined by a flat-topped earth and stone bank. Slight traces of an outer fosse remain to the west and northwest, while a stone wall now overlays part of the southern and western perimeter. Two other raths sit nearby, one about 140 metres to the northeast and the other about 70 metres to the southwest.
On a shoulder of a S-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 32.5m NNE-SSW; 29.3m WNW-ESE) defined by a flat-topped earth and stone bank (Wth of base 3-5m; Wth of top 0.7-0.9m; int. H 0.55-0.7m; ext. H 1-1.75m), with slight traces of an outer fosse (Wth of base 2.8m) W-NW. There is no identifiable original entrance and the perimeter is overlain by a stone wall S-W, while the interior is overlain by a NW-SE field wall SW of the centre. Rath (RO047-011001-) is c. 140m to the NE and rath (RO047-040002-) is c. 70m to the SW.
