Carrickbrack 1962 Stone Cist

This monument was uncovered in December 1962 during the removal of stones prior to ploughing and investigated on behalf of the National Museum of Ireland by O Riordáin in January 1963. Rectangular short cist (dims. 0.54m N-S; 0.25m E-W; H 0.36m) whose sides were defined principally by four principal slabs set on edge. The floor was composed of a single, oval-shaped slab (dims. 0.48m x 0.24m; T 0.08cm). The capstone was triangular (dims. 0.97m x 0.88m; H 0.15cm). No human remains or artifacts were identified.
