Carrigeenmullowna

Carrigeenmullowna is a wedge tomb in Carranduff, County Sligo, Ireland. County Sligo contains many megalithic monuments because hillsides and bogland there held dense Neolithic settlement from roughly five to three thousand years before the common era. Passage tombs, court tombs and portal dolmens appeared across that landscape, while later isolation limited the clearance and agricultural reworking that removed comparable monuments elsewhere. Carrigeenmullowna belongs to that regional tomb tradition, though little public detail separates it from the wider County Sligo group.
