What is recorded here
Barrow is a five-metre ring-barrow on the dry margin above the Camoge River floodplain, partially truncated by a later field boundary running over its north side. It sits 200m south of the river edge and 100m west of the Knockcorragh boundary, with a ringfort 55m further south. The barrow resisted mapping for decades, hiding in plain sight until aerial photography revealed its circular shape. A boundary line cut through it later, treating ancient depth as ordinary ground.
On the dry margin just above the edge of the floodplain of the Camoge River, located 200m to S. The site is 100m W of the townland boundary with Knockcorragh. Ringfort (LI023-086----) 55m to S. Not depicted on historic OSi maps but is visible on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 255; AP 4/3659) as a circular ring-barrow (ext. diam. c. 5m). The ring-barrow appears to have been partially truncated by a later E-W orientated field boundary that runs over its N side. The site is visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
