Kilpadder North holds a buried field where dead people may have slept before the farm appeared. The exact spot has vanished, but the local story preserves a rectangle of earth large enough for many bodies and tall enough to mark the edge of a forgotten life. Forgetting does not empty the claim; it returns the field to imagination, where the dead can still be named through wonder rather than lost to nothing.

According to Bowman (1934, 594), 'raised portion, c. 50yds by 40 by c. 2ft high', in field in Mr Hunt's farm was said locally to have been a burial ground. Exact location not known.
