What is recorded here
Nine metres of heather and clay cling to the steep Brandon Hill slope, tucked beside a straight enclosure wall. Intruders later gouged twin hollows through its top, dumping spoil across the grass. The ancient stones still stand beside their scarred flesh, waiting for someone steady enough to read what they remember.
On a very steep SW-facing slope of Brandon Hill. The cairn is just inside the perimeter of large enclosure (KK033-008001-) at NW where the straight wall of the enclosure runs up the slope. A circular cairn (basal diam. 8.9m NW-SE; 8.6m NE-SW; H 1-1.1m rising to 1.5m in the SE-SW downslope sector), covered in peaty clay with grass and heather. The top of the cairn has been dug out, forming two hollows (dims. 2.4m NW-SE; 1.8m NE-SW; D 0.4-0.5m and c. 1.6m) that join together, with spoil to the SW. A fosse (Wth 4.5-4.8m; D 0.8m) is evident from NW-SE, dug into the up-slope side.

A Neolithic cairn, likely dating to the Early to Middle Bronze Age, associated with a larger ritual or territorial enclosure; its location suggests a possible funerary or ceremonial function within a broader prehistoric landscape.
