What is recorded here

Gallán is a 1.57m standing stone in County Cork pasture, absent from both the 1842 and 1904 maps. It leans NNE-SSW on a south-facing slope, subrectangular and sharp-edged, the kind of marker someone set when surveying was still young enough to miss it. The land kept its shape while the drawings forgot it, which is either humility or arrogance depending on who is holding the pen.
