Indicated

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined fairy fort on a Galway pasture rise, its thirty-two-metre circle reduced to a collapsed stony bank beneath a later field wall. The surrounding land still marks the hidden shape, suggesting human hands built a boundary there before forgetting the name.
On a rise in undulating pastureland. Very poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. c. 32m) defined by a collapsed stony bank, which is overlain by a later field wall, from S to W. From W through N to E only the outline of the monument is visible. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 15 February 2019
