What is recorded here
Graveslab in Ballypheasan is the bottom part of a graveslab lying in the SE angle of Roscommon Abbey, its moulded edge still sharp though no device remains visible on the upper surface. It may have marked a buried person whose name has worn away, or it may have been moved when the abbey changed around it. Either way, the stone survived the loss of meaning that erased so much else.
The bottom part of a graveslab (L 0.48m; Wth 0.44m; T 0.29m) was noted by Bradley and Dunne (1988, 104) and recorded by Gary Dempsey in the SE angle of Roscommon Abbey (RO039-055001-). It has a moulded edge but no device on its upper surface can be detected.
