What is recorded here

Indicated was a thirty-metre fairy fort on a west-facing slope in County Limerick, visible on the 1841 map but now buried beneath a concrete farm yard. The earth that once held its shape has been levelled, erasing the boundary and leaving only a flat surface where something circular stood. What lived inside that ring is gone, yet the slope still faces west, remembering the shape of what was removed.

In pasture, on W-facing slope, just below brow of hill. Monument, depicted on 1841 OS 6-inch map as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), has been levelled. Field boundary which skirted enclosure SE->SW has been removed and area to N of it covered by concrete yard surrounded by farm buildings. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
