Church of the Holy Mary Mother of God

Detached three-bay two-storey outbuilding, built c.1830. Pitched corrugated-iron roof with render gable copings. Rubble limestone walls. Pointed arch window openings with stone sills and dressed stone voussoirs to front (east) elevation, now blocked with render and corrugated-iron. Pointed arch window openings with dressed stone voussoirs to rear (west) elevation now blocked with red brick. Oculus and pointed arch window openings to side (south) elevation now blocked with red brick. Round-headed door opening with stone voussoirs to front elevation having timber battened door. Camber-headed door opening with red brick voussoirs to side elevation having replacement double-leaf sheet metal doors. Set within churchyard along roadside.

Located within the grounds of a nearby church, this building makes an interesting contribution to the site. The rubble stone construction adds texture and interest while its split level design makes it an unusual feature of the surrounding landscape.
