Meadstown Castle vanished into a ordinary farm building, yet its bottle-shaped chimney and wide iron-crane fireplace still mark the loss. The Meade family built the present structure around that older stack, forcing a medieval or early modern hearth to serve domestic life instead of defence. The castle did not disappear so much as it changed jobs, keeping its fire and shape while surrendering its name.

Marked 'site of' on all editions of OS 6-inch map. Two-storey, gabled farm building (11.8m x 7m) of 19th-century appearance with projecting chimney stack (Wth 3.1m; projecting 1.15m at ground level) on S gable; stack probably of 17th-century date. Fireplace (Wth 1.5m; D1.2m), with iron crane, covered by wooden lintel; stack projects inside (0.4m) at 1st-floor level. Outside stack has 'bottle-shaped' profile, topped by two brick courses. Below present roof level two 'flashing' stones project from either side of stack, possibly indicating earlier roofline. Built by Meade family (Healy 1988, 276).
