What is recorded here
Whitechurch church in County Kildare stands beside a hidden circular ditch, visible only when dry soil darkens beneath aerial lenses. The enclosure belongs to the church, yet it has no wall, gate or room; it is a boundary drawn in earth and memory. Perhaps people once walked that circle before building the church, marking sacred ground without asking permission from stone.
Aerial photograph (GB89.AI.12) shows the cropmark of a circular enclosure defined by a fosse, immediately west of Whitechurch church (KD035-029----).
