What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Cork, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a hillock in pasture, forming a circular area twenty-five and a half metres long and twenty-four and a half metres wide. An earthen bank rises one point two metres along part of the edge, while a steeper scarp reaches one point five five metres elsewhere. A shallow external fosse cuts into the north-west, and a one-metre gap opens toward the south-west. Cultivation ridges still cross the interior from north to south, marking repeated human use inside the old boundary.

In pasture, on crest of hillock. Circular area (25.5m N-S; 24.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.2m) SSW->NW; defined by scarp (H 1.55m) elsewhere; shallow external fosse to NW. Gap in bank (Wth 1m) to SW. Cultivation ridges cross interior on N-S axis. Field boundary skirts enclosure NNW->SE.
