Graveslab in Ballyburly is a 44-inch stone from Coolcor monastic site, bearing a ring-headed cross beside ropes and a ladder from the Passion of Our Lord. It stood in the west wall of the church before joining an armorial plaque and wall monument in the National Museum of Ireland. The slab preserves a brutal Christian image, making mercy and suffering visible on cold stone.

This graveslab, which was in W wall of the church (OF004-013----), is said to be from Coolcor monastic site (OF004-011002-)(Irish Times 5/2/1975). It measures 44 inches long by 14 inches at the bottom and decorated with a ring-headed cross flanked by two objects of the Passion of Our Lord, viz. the ropes which tied Our Lord to the pillar and the ladder (Hickey 1974, 18-19). This graveslab together with an armorial plaque (OF004-013005-) and a wall monument (OF004-013002-) from this site are in the National Museum of Ireland. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien.
