Tobersive is a hidden holy well in County Limerick, Ireland, where limestone breathes through pasture and a stream touches the edge of a small stone chamber. People may have knelt at its water before forgetting the name, while vines and beams now cover the mouth of the well. What was once familiar has become a rumor the land keeps private.

In pasture, in NW corner of field with stream adjacent to N. In area of outcropping limestone. Circular area (diam. 1.4m) enclosed by dry-stone wall (H 1m). A recent concrete surround further encloses well on N side jutting out into stream. Well, heavily masked by vegetation cover, is partially covered by a wooden beam. A metal beam has been inserted across the well below the water line. By the 1950s, according to Ó Danachair (1955) 'the well has disappeared and no tradition survives'. Linked to Saint Tobersius, the well is traditionally associated with cures for skin ailments and general well-being. Locals would visit the site on Saint Tobersius’s feast day, collecting water in the morning for ritual washing or drinking.
