What is recorded here

Low stone walls and narrow ditches still mark the ground around the Ballaverty ringfort, suggesting a busy settlement rather than a lonely stronghold. The layout hints that people farmed, lived and worked together inside a bounded landscape. What is certain is the shape of the remains: a field system built around the fort instead of a random scatter of ruins.
