A thin sandstone slab with a raised ringed cross still stands in the Ardmulchan graveyard, perhaps the same stone Wilde saw fitted into a church tower doorway in 1850. It may have been pulled from that door and set among the buried, or it may have waited there all along while the tower took another stone. Either way, the cross survived being moved, reused and remembered.

In the graveyard (ME025-020001-) of Ardmulchan parish church (ME025-020----) is a sandstone cross-slab (H 0.62-0.66m; Wth 0.38-48m; T 0.1m) with a raised ringed cross (int. diam. 0.25m; ext. diam. 36m), which may be the slab noted by Wilde (1850, 142) as re-used on a doorway in the church tower.
