What is recorded here

Lisheen is a broken stone ringfort on a north-facing Cork slope, its twenty-metre circle marked by a low bank and cultivation ridges still visible through pasture. The rocks protrude through grass like teeth, suggesting the fort resisted full erasure even when human hands stopped maintaining it. Its tilt and scars record adaptation to a stubborn hill rather than elegant design.

In pasture, on N-facing slope, broken by rock outcrop. Circular area (21m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by dump construction stone bank (H 1.3m). Bank topped to N, E and W by stone field fence. Interior raised on N side to compensate for hillslope; crossed on N-S axis by cultivation ridges. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
