Man-made underground passage in Aclint — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Aclint is a man-made underground passage beside Aclint motte in County Louth. Local tradition says people opened it in the early twentieth century, but it was inaccessible when surveyed. The passage still suggests that the land near the motte hid rooms, tunnels or chambers people wanted to find.

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
