Rathkilmurry is a fairy fort in County Laois, Ireland, where a broad fosse and double earth banks enclose a circular space now choked by trees. The name hints that a church once stood inside the ring, suggesting human prayer and fairy claim may have shared the same ground.

Situated on a rise with good views of the surrounding countryside. A circular area (diam. c. 50m) defined by an inner bank (Wth c. 6.6m, ext. H c. 2.2m), intervening fosse (Wth c. 10m) and an outer bank (Wth c. 6.4m, int. H c. 2.2m, ext. H c. 2m) from N-SE. Entrance (Wth c. 3m) with causeway at W. The site is overgrown with trees. Based on the name 'Rathkilmurry', Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 240) suggested that there was once a church (LA034-028002-) within the ringfort.
