Rathgruadish

Marked as a trivallate enclosure called Rathgruadish on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and located towards the bottom of a SE-facing slope of White Mountain. This is a circular scrub-covered area (diam. 35.5m N-S; 34m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5m generally to 6.5m at S; int. H 0.2m at N to 1m at S; ext. H 0.3m at N to 2.m at S), with an external fosse (Wth of top 5m at N to 7.5m at S; D 1.6m at S) and outer bank (Wth 4.5-5m; max. ext. H 2.2m at S) SE-W-N. The entrance (Wth 2m) through both banks is at SSE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
