RATH in Kilcorig

RATH

What is recorded here

Kilcorig still holds a rath, though no date or owner survives to name it. A circle of earth may have stood where the field bends, excluding rain and marking territory before written law. People may have lived inside that simple boundary, measuring days by weather rather than numbers.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
